How it changed the world
I'm sure their are a lot of people asking how Minecraft "changed the world." Video games changed the world right? Well Minecraft revolutionized video games and gameplay, here's why: It has an infinite world and you can do whatever you want; you can put yourself to the task of surviving; or you could build anything, your only limitation is your mind. It connects people all around the world and that builds community.
Gameplay
Minecraft is a game where you place 3D blocks in a 3D generated world. Some activities are exploring, gathering resources and pvp player vs player (a word used by players for combat). There are four methods of gameplay: survival, creative, hardcore, and adventure. Survival is where you survive and gather resources. Creative is where you have an infinite amount of blocks and flying, and usually used for building or exploring. There is also an adventure mode where you play other people's custom maps. The PC version of the game is respected for something called mods. Mods in regards to Minecraft are programs you download from third-party developers. They add items to the game, characters and quests to the game.
